  • First official weigh in

    Well hello everybody!

    Its my first official weigh in, and I'm well happy, I now weigh 123.1 kgs! Thats about 2kg lost since I started this thing.

    Although I don't know where its gone from, my measurements are still the same!

    It is one in the face to my sister tho, as she reckoned I'd need a personal trainer to lose any weight pah to her!!!!!!

    I've got to go to bed now (night shift) but I thought I'd quickly post the weigh in results for today

  • No wallet no subway

    Whoooo nearly didn't post today there, the joys of working a monday on an IT helpdesk, no time to randomly surf the net! Sucks to be me lol.

    I managed to resist the whole sweets/chocolates thing yesterday, go me! But I didn't have anything at home for lunch today, so normally that would involve a quick trip to Subway, mmmm subway, but silly old me forgot my wallet, so I basically didn't eat from 5.45am until 8pm when i'd finally finished making dinner after getting home from work (I work 7 til 7). Had a tasty stir fry.

    Night shifts again tomorrow, so gym in the morning hoorah!

    Did anyone catch Top Gear last night? Man that crash must've hurt

  • At work, and it's Sunday

    Gargh,

    Here is the crunch, and possibly the cause of all my problems!

    I'm at work, its Sunday, very quiet with practically nothing to do and...

    I fancy chocolate, sweets, anything really.

    Hanging on by sheer willpower alone, as I can't eat these things now. Luckily I have fruit with my lunch later.

    How many days have I done sat here just eating out of boredom?! At least I guess I know what part of the problem is, and can work against it. Might be worth picking up some dried fruit or something I think, to nibble on.

  • At last a breakthrough

    Well, for the first time I started this crazy business of losing weight I'm sub 125kg, granted it was 124.9 but its a start!

    I've joined the gym properly now, so I HAVE to go!

    Yesterday was pretty good diet wise -
    No breakfast (ooops)
    Salad for lunch with a bread roll
    Mixed bean vegtetarian chili for dinner
    Fruit juice

    Back to work tomorrow tho, so we will see how things fare over the next few days!

  • Another day

    Well I managed to spend another morning at the gym, hoorah!

    Did a good 45mins worth of cardio, and some resistance training, but this was limited as I messed up my arm when I went last week, its almost better though so I hope to be able to pick that up again tomorrow.

    Don't even really want to mention my food, started off well with a banana for breakfast, but then had a cuppa soup for lunch with some bread, and then canneloni for dinner, d'oh!

    Just as well I'm down the gym again tomorrow

  • The quest continues

    So the aim for fitness continues with the scary purchase of some scales. Thats a bit boring you might say, but no, these are no ordinary scales, just from my sockless feet this amazing piece of equipment can apparently determine -

    My body fat %
    My H2O level
    My muscle %
    Basic metabolic rate
    And all for the bargain price of £40.

    Between this and the gym I'm gonna be broke.

    For those that care what I ate today:
    A bowl of cereal this morning
    Salad with Quorn pieces, red pepper and two slices of bread for dinner
    Fruit juice

    First of my days off, gym again tomorrow whoooo!

  • And so it all starts

    Well, this is my first time doing the whole blog thing, crazy huh? Luckily it coincides with my attempt to get fit. I'm sure I'm going to open my self up to loads of abuse for being over weight etc, but really I just hope to inspire some other people to try and do it as well.

    Let me take you back to 2001 when I was still a student regularly walking at least 4 miles a day, going to the gym, playing squash, and weighing in at a relatively slim 90kg, at least for a person my size, now fast forward to 2007, three years out of uni, doing a job where I sit about all day and don't really get a lot of exercise. Diet is fairly good, but it just isn't enough, and worryingly I am now the following person:

    Weight: 125.7Kg / 19st 11lbs
    Chest: 49"
    Waist: 50"
    Thighs: 28"

    A far cry from the person I was! (I'm actually cheating a little, I've been to the gym a week before writing this)

    So this is the start, I'm gonna do weekly updates, and we can track my progress, and if anyone wants to join in then thats great!
